lanza estrategia de Profilaxis Preexposici\u00f3n al VIH"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><em>La Profilaxis Preexposici\u00f3n (PrEP) es un m\u00e9todo de prevenci\u00f3n primaria que la OMS recomienda administrar por v\u00eda oral a personas que tienen riesgos significativos de contraer la infecci\u00f3n por el virus.<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><em>En Panam\u00e1 1,342 personas se han inscrito en este programa para recibir la PrEP.<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><em>Con ello el pa\u00eds es el primero en Centro Am\u00e9rica que cuenta con esta terapia innovadora.<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Este mi\u00e9rcoles el Ministerio de Salud (MINSA) realiz\u00f3 el lanzamiento oficial de la norma para el manejo de la Profilaxis Preexposici\u00f3n al Virus de Inmunodeficiencia Humana (VIH), donde le correspondi\u00f3 a la directora general de Salud P\u00fablica Melva Cruz en representaci\u00f3n del ministro de Salud, Luis Francisco Sucre, dar las palabras de apertura y manifestar la importancia de esta normativa de prevenci\u00f3n en esta materia en Panam\u00e1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLa Profilaxis Preexposici\u00f3n (PrEP) es un tratamiento previo, antes de tener relaciones de riesgo con personas que puedan tener el virus VIH y se ha demostrado que reduce el 99% de probabilidades de contagio\u201d, explic\u00f3 Cruz, quien recalc\u00f3 que esta estrategia de prevenci\u00f3n primaria es una iniciativa de la Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial de la Salud (OMS), organismo que recomienda administrar por v\u00eda oral a personas que tienen un riesgo significativo de contraer la infecci\u00f3n por el virus al VIH.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped Ch\u00e1vez jefe de la secci\u00f3n de ITS\/VIH\/SIDA del Ministerio de Salud, indic\u00f3 que la Profilaxis Preexposici\u00f3n (PrEP) es el uso de medicamentos antirretrovirales para personas VIH negativas, a fin de prevenir la transmisi\u00f3n del Virus y agreg\u00f3 que en Panam\u00e1 1,342 personas se han inscritos en este programa para recibir la PrEP, que actualmente se est\u00e1 dando en los Centros de Salud del Chorrillo, Santa Ana, Torrijos Carter, Altos de San Francisco, San Mateo y en la comarca Ng\u00e4be-Bugl\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A partir de junio se inicia el programa en el centro de Salud de R\u00edo Abajo y en el interior del pa\u00eds empieza en el centro de Salud Canto del Llano en la provincia de Veraguas, dijo Ch\u00e1vez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La PrEP se ofrece gratuitamente y est\u00e1 dirigida solamente a hombres que tienen sexo con otros hombre, mujeres trans, trabajadores sexuales y situaciones especiales como: v\u00edctimas de violencia sexual, personas
